Robbery
Robbery and Stealing Offences
Robbery is very similar to the offence of larceny (stealing).
But it’s considered more serious as it also involves an assault.
Sections 94 to 98 of the Crimes Act NSW deal with robbery and stealing offences.
These include;
- Robbery or stealing from a person;
- Armed robbery and armed robbery in company;
- Robbery with arms and wounding.
The penalties for offences of this nature are very serious.
If the person has previously been convicted of a similar offence, it is highly likely the Court will impose a custodial sentence.
